My private photography workshops are designed for the photographer who wants individual instruction in the field — with real-time guidance on composition, light, and creative vision. This is the perfect time to slow down and let your creativity soar! If looking for some new locations and want to get inspired, this trip is perfect for you! I always take my folks to the best I know of and will make recommendations for good blooms and the most amazing events you will see in this area.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your craft, there’s no better way to accelerate your skills than working side-by-side with a working professional in inspiring locations, especially in the Southern Appalachians. We have a Rainforest here, and it’s gorgeous all of the time, but there are certain times and conditions that will blow you away. Let me show you what they are and how to find them.
Based in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, I offer private sessions throughout the Southern Appalachians, including Waterfalls, Wildflowers, beautiful Vistas, and many other hidden gems I’ve discovered over decades of exploration. We travel at your pace taking plenty of time to relax and connect with the landscape.
From mastering manual settings to learning how to create depth, emotion, and drama in your images, these workshops are all about unlocking your potential as a landscape photographer and having fun. Whether you're looking to build a stronger portfolio, expand your print sales, prepare for an exhibition, or simply growing your own creativity, I’ll meet you where you are and help point the way forward so you can avoid the pitfalls. Private Tours are starting at only $325. for a half day, 6-9 hours depending on the Season. Full days starting at $600, 10-12 hours.
Non-photography spouses are welcome to join! I am fully permitted, insured, and CPR Life Saving Certified. All travel is provided in these custom Workshops.

The Sessions are recorded for you so you can easily refer back to the exact moves or settings. Just bring your list of questions, and you will have all of the answers. Interested in demos? We can do all you like. Image critiques are a perfect way to fine-tune and polish your current images, and get a professional opinion on your competition images and your website portfolio.
Beginning in Photography? Not a problem… I can take you through Lightroom and have you up and running in no time. It’s easy when you have someone explain it to you. Books and tutorials can sometimes leave you wanting. Advanced and looking for that nifty little trick that will step up your current workflow? Give me a chance, I have many, and so far, there have been a lot of “ah ha!” moments.
Can’t learn Photoshop? I’ll show you why you don’t have to “learn Photoshop” and why just a couple of moves in there could change everything for you! It’s easy, I promise.

Cancellation Policy
NOTE: Private Workshops offer better flexibility than Group Workshops and can target ideal weather for landscape photography, which is a serious advantage.
If you get rained out or an emergency occurs, you can rebook your Private Workshop anytime within a Calendar year from your original date. We just pick a new date and roll forward.
No refunds are given on Private Workshops, but you will receive a full credit when you roll forward to another date.
